Rondji Restaurant, a romantic mix of food, arts and a true love story.

Rondji restaurant is a promising place for food and art lovers to satisfy their soul and hunger. Located in the famous art space of the Blanco Renaissance Museum in Ubud, Rondji restaurant has became one of the must-see leisure places.
            The green landscape of Campuhan hill will be food for your eyes while you sit enjoying your lunch. The chirping birds and falling leaves will accompany every sip of your cocktail while you relax on a cozy sofa under the trees.
            A tranquil night and the song of the Campuhan River down below make this place also perfect for a romantic candlelight dinner with your loved one.
            The restaurant is named after the Balinese girl whose dark complexion and captivating dance won the heart of a visiting Spanish painter in search of the last paradise. The girl, Ni Rondji, later became the beloved wife and principal muse of the painter, the eccentric Don Antonio Blanco, whose works have been collected by famous people, including Michael Jackson and Prince Norodom Sihanouk.
            Both Blanco and Rondji have passed away, but their love story can still be found lingering in the ambience of the restaurant, and in it is menu.
            Balinese food and Spanish cuisine are offered in a rich variety of dishes. Lunak pelalah (Spicy grilled seafood), lawar kuwir (Wild Duck Salad), and snail salad and betutu (Grilled duck), are served in Balinese style.
            Meanwhile, roasted duck, rabbit and Catalonian pumpkin soup are served in Spanish style. Seats are available for more than 120 people. Groups or company gatherings are welcome to visit.
            Take time to walk around the tropical garden and enjoy the great collection of the late Blanco’s paintings in the museum if you visit Rondji.
            Mario Blanco and his siblings built the restaurant in homage to their lovely mother, Ni Rondji. The building is set in the family compound.
            “The presence of the Blanco Renaissance Museum and the Rondji restaurant is a symbol of love, life, union and memories”, Mario said.
            He recalled that his late mother was an excellent chef and that her ayam pedas Penestanan (Ubud style slow-cooked chicken in chilli) and balung nangka (braised pork ribs with young jackfruit) were his father’s favourite foods.

            “I think we will soon include these on the menu.”
 Rondji Restaurant Ubud is not only selling the food, view, and hospitality. It offers another thing, which is Entertainment in the evening time. As Rondji was a popular Balinese dancer, the moment they bring Balinese Dance Perfomances can make it perfect to accompany your dinner. Starts from 7:30Pm every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Romantic environment will attract your attention on Thursday, especially for couples will make it such a great dinner while the Latino Acoustic Band playing romantic songs for them.
